"Red Scarf Girl" so far, is about this girl named Ji-li and she's going to school. She's really good at like taikwondo, I think, and she performs for her class and there was this lady there that was from this dance academy place and she said that Ji-li was really good and flexible so she asked her and a few other students to go and try out for the dance academy. Ji-li was really excited....but then her father like totally blew and said that she shouldn't try out because they would have to have political backgrounds on her family and he said that would be bad. She asked him why, but he would tell her. So she got really upset and now she's really sad and bummed out in life. That's my 1st blog entry on "Red Scarf Girl."

in my story, the main character also dances kind of too. She dances in the hospital for wounded soilders. OOOOHHH i made a text to text connection.

Lets see now, i've read that same beginning somewhere... o! im reading the same book in reading class!!! haha ok that was lame. but anyway that was a good explanation of the setting, and i kno its good cuz i read the beginning too and that is as good as the summary of the beginning can get. descriptive and lively so that if anyone who didnt kno the book read this post, they could get a starting picture in their minds. comment mine too peace out~
Wow! Don't you hate it when your parents say you can't do something! My father does that all the time without giving me any real reason except well NO. OOOHHH text to self connection!!! I wanna read this book Pauline is also writing about it and i feel like i can relate to the character.

anywayssss Sun-hee in "When My Name was Keoko" is really good at kanji. A Japanese character. She loves to make stories about them. This helps her to remember the characters better. One day she was awarded for being the best at kanji in her grade. She was so proud and happy but afterschool these boys started bullying her by throwing rocks at her. They were calling her a Japanese favorer, chunilpa, because she actually liked learning kanji. Sun-hee was very confused and she was thinking to herself, 'Does liking kanji make me a chunilpa?' She was very sad and depressed because of that until her father told her that the Japanese people had adapted kanji from the Chinese and that Koreans use it also. After that she knew that she wasnt a chunilpa and she could learn kanji as much as she wanted. It is kind of like what is happening to Ji-li right?

I'm reading the same book too. I can tell that this is the plot of your story, which is kind of in the exposition but going up to the rising action. Yeah she is good at fighting but I dont think its taekwondo, anyways later she goes through a lot of other conflicts so keep on reading dude.
i think the story looks quite fun. i dont know where the story is from though, anyways i might read this for my IR book. anyways its really different from our book because my book its during the war so the whole setting is not really "happy" but sad and tiring and hard for them throughout the story. I think the story i read would be more fun, but still i might read this one later too.
